Chinese expansionism

Evolution of Chinese territories in mainland China throughout Chinese history.

Chinese expansionism is an expansionism that has been identified with different phases of territorial expansion in Chinese history.

While the dynasties of Han, Tang, Yuan, and Qing saw significant territorial expansion, Chinese expansionism as a motivation or even coherent phenomenon underlying foreign policy of Chinese states has been primarily and contentiously discussed in regard to the contemporary People's Republic of China and its territorial policy,[1] particularly with the government of China raising irredentist claims about the territorial outline of its state beyond its established borders, producing a range of territorial disputes.
